Oral History For The Qualitative Researcher By Valerie J. Janesick

Oral History For The Qualitative Researcher

This Author is basically telling us about that Oral History and The Qualitative Research uses the same techniques at the time of telling someone story.  Both use interviews, observation, documents, potographs, videos, and drawing as evidence.
Oral History also has been called: folklore, memory, deja-vu, narrative, story telling, authobiography, autoethography, portraiture, biography, life story, photovoice and the long interview.
Oral history to me is the technique used to capture individual or set of individuals life stories.  It called my attention that early in the last centurie oral hitory focus on interviewing elite persons, such as generals, famous artist or scientist, great leaders of nations.
As I interviewed my participant I realized that in order to understand your present you need to know your past. oral history has been of great used since the ancients time.
