The issues the author raises are issues that at some point of our lives we all had. She is talking about people miss-perception of someone else behavior or someone else ways to talk or ways to express themselves.      How women can be criticize depending on how they dress, how they talk or how they wear their hair
 Sometimes us as parents try to oppress our children at some point of their lives. They have to do as told by their parents, parents have to present the world as a dangerous place to their children in order to keep them oppress.

  Gay people are still intentionally oppressed in the united states. They do not have the same right as straight people, and it is reflected in laws denying them the right to get married and telling them they have to keep quiet if they enroll in the military.
