INTERRUPTING THE CYCLE OF OPPRESSION.The Role of Allies as Agents of Change.

The author Andrea Ayvazian is talking about oppression and what you can do about it , to break the cycle of it. She is talking about Allies and it's meanings for society.
 what is an Ally???? an ally is someone who fights for what she or he believes, who speaks and  make a point in something that maybe someone else won't have the courage to talk about. Is a member of a dominant group in our society, It could be white or black, lesbian or gay, homosexual or heterosexual, who works to dismantle any form of oppression from which she or he receives the benefit.
 She also speaks about how at some point of someone lives the oppressor can become oppress.
 She also says that when a black person talks to a white person about racism it doesn't makes a different on the white person. But when a white talks to a white and raises the topic it does makes a different.
 If we all come together and we say No to violence , we can bring a change.
Research studies have confirmed what observers and allies have been saying for years: that when a woman is the victim of ongoing,, violent domestic abuse, it makes no difference to her chance of survival if she has counseling,take a restraining order or fight back.  The only chance she has is if the abuser or victimizer himself is exposed to direct and ongoing anti battering intervention.
